Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MahJoin mobile application and related services (“Service”) operated by MahJoin LLC (“MahJoin,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

MahJoin is a mobile application that helps users discover and host in-person mahjong games. The Service includes event discovery, clubs, real-time chat, game statistics, and optional subscription features. We may update or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

2. Account and Eligibility

You must create an account to use certain features. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service; by using the Service you represent that you meet any applicable age requirements. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the Service. You will not:

• Use the Service for harassment, abuse, spam, or illegal activity.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
• Use the Service to distribute malware or interfere with the operation of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features (e.g., clubs, direct and group chat) may require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment terms, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the applicable store’s policies. We do not store your payment card details; the store processes payments. Subscription status is synced to our systems to enable or restrict features in the app.

5. In-Person Events and Your Responsibility

MahJoin facilitates discovery and organization of in-person mahjong events. We do not host, supervise, or control these events. Attendance and participation are at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety and compliance with local laws when attending or hosting events you find through the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service (including design, text, graphics, and software) is owned or licensed by MahJoin and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service or our branding without our written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAHJOIN LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS IF GREATER).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MahJoin LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
